We named our business ‘Verona Stone’, drawing inspiration from the rich history and significance of Verona, Italy, in the stone industry. Verona indeed holds a prominent place in the world of natural stone, and its historical sites and cultural importance add to the allure of the city.
The city ‘Verona’ has a deep association with stone processing and for over two millennia showcases the deep-rooted heritage and expertise that has been passed down through generations. The Ponte Pietra Bridge, constructed around 100 BC, stands as a testament to the longevity and durability of natural stone structures. Ponte Pietra was bombed by the German’s in WWII and rebuilt soon after the war finished. The solid stone arena, completed in 30 AD, is an iconic landmark that continues to captivate visitors to this day.
Verona’s cultural influence is also noteworthy, with William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet being set in the city. The city’s reputation as “the city of love” further adds to its charm and mystique. Juliet’s balcony, in the heart of the city attracted over 3,000,000 visitors per year prior to the pandemic. By naming our business Verona Stone, we aren’t only paying homage to the historical significance of Verona but also embody our passion for stone and our connection to this renowned stone processing hub.
It’s a fitting choice for a name that aligns our business with the prestigious legacy and ongoing innovation in the stone industry that ‘Verona’ represents.
Walking the streets and enjoying the history this quaint town offers is truly a refreshing experience that I look forward to every time I visit. The Gelati and Pizza isn’t bad either!
